used TD 4 w/scratch and loose compartment cover
Good morning!
Odd question for you. I found a listing for a used TD4 with some scratches and a loose compartment cover. Would cover replacement require it to be sent in to see whether the issue is on the cover or the frame itself, and given the sizes and locations of the scratches, would you caution against purchasing the frame used? Thanks in advance for your help.

This looks like a good condition Donkey. The description mistakenly lists it as a TD3 but you’re right, it’s a 4. You don’t need an entirely new door cover, you would only need a new lower hook. The one on the bike is most likely ABS plastic, and we make them from metal now. That’s a $25 fix. If you buy the bike, just shoot us an email at bikes@rodeo-labs.mom and we can connect you with that part (which isn’t on our online store).
The scratch / gouge on the non drive side downtube is considerable. We can’t really evaluate it from a photo though. Even if it is structurally damaged, that can be repaired by a carbon technician. We would guess that’s a $300-$500 repair if it does in fact need repair.
The overall parts spec on the bike is nice!

Additional fixing point on Flaanimal Ti
I currently use a bottle cage mounted on the top tube near the seat tube junction for long-distance riding. When ordering a titanium frame, is it feasible to have threaded bottle-cage mounts integrated in that position? Are there any structural considerations I should be aware of when adding bosses to the top tube close to the seat cluster? Thanks
We definitely apprecate how useful those bosses can be near the seat tube! We didn’t engineer those into our Ti frame, or test the frame with those additional mounting points, so we cannot endorse adding them to the frame or support any issues that arise from modified frames.
That said, we can give you a bit of technical information so that you understand our frame. The butting profile of the top tube is such that both ends have the same butting thickness at each end. On the 6 Ti the tube is merged with the 3d printed junction peice near the seat tube. If we were to design the frame with this new mount, we wouldn’t put it closer than 45mm from the seat tube outer wall / seat cluster.

Pin spanner?
I don’t know which spork. See photo. https://imgur.com/a/GhXyLg9 End cap keeps coming loose. Blue loctite?
But… 1. Dont have a pin spanner this small, 2. Not gonna be putting this much torque with a pin spanner.
Advice?Blue Loctite is exactly the answer here. You don’t want to put an excessive amount on. A few drops should do it.

Spork 4.0 Steer Tube
Can you recommend a stem/handlebar combination for fully integrated cable routing. Maybe something similar to my Cervelo Caledonia-5?
With Spork 4 you have a lot of different options depending on the bike that you’re installing it on. Spork 4 has a D shaped steer tube that allows you to use traditional stems in fully integrated applications without proprietary headsets, and it is also compatible with fully integrated bar / stem / headset systems.
What is critical is that you use a stem / headset that were designed together if you’re using the system approach.
For example, when using Enve EnRoute, use an Enve stem and Enve spacers, combined with either Wolf Tooth or Chris King EnRoute headsets.
If using FSA fully integrated systems, use their ACR integrated line, such as the NS ACR stems and No 55 ACR headset, for example.
The same applies to Ritchey integrated systems, etc.
Some brands such as Black Inc are possible to use, but trickier because their headset upper are designed around Factor frames. Cervelo stems would be tough to use because their headset uppers are designed around Cervelo frames.
When we do builds with parts / stems from other bike brands we often 3d print a headset upper cover to match the proprietary shape of bike-brand-specific components.

SON 28 Dyno Routing to Cinq Plug5 Pure
Hey guys! I’m loving my Spork 3.3 mounted on my old trusty Salsa Vaya Travel! Couldn’t be more happy! Thanks for making a straight non-tapered steer tube version! Rodeo Spork Series 3
I am asking for advice regarding the routing of Son 28 dyno wiring harness up through the drive side fork, to the top of the steer tube. Is that possible on my straight steer tube Spork 3.3? I’m hoping to install a SON 28 Dyno connected to a steer tube (top cap) mounted Cinq Plug5 Pure. If it’s indeed possible to route the wires internally all the way up to the top of the Spork 3.3 steer tube, do you have a recommend procedure to route (pull) the wires internally?

Thanks for using a Spork 3 in your build!
To install a Cinq on a Spork 3 you would need the 23mm expander plug. This is critical for fitting inside of our steer tube.
As for routing from the lower fork leg port and staying internal all the way through the steer tube – you can do it, but there are some bends in there that get tricky in the crown area. You can try using a Park Tool routing kit, which is an industry standard internal routing tool.
You could also try plugging the two crown holes and steer tube routing hole, then placing a vaccum at the top of bottom entrance exit of the fork. Turn the vaccum on and feed a thin string into the hole at the other end of the vaccum. The vaccum is remarkably effective for pulling that small string through the fork and out the other end. Once through, tie the string to the end of your wire and fish it back through.
Internal routing can be challenging in these tight spaces, but with some persistence and creativity it can be done.

TD4.2 56cm Availability
Hi – do you know when you will have the TD4.2 in size 56cm available again for order? I am hoping to build up a new gravel bike this summer.
Additionally, I live in the Seattle, WA area and am a mountain bike instructor with Evergreen Mountain Bike Alliance (https://www.evergreenmtb.org/). Do you guys offer any industry discounts?

Thanks for the note. We expect more 56cm TD4.2 in about mid June. They can be preordered now, or purchased when they arrive. We typically do allow EP when we have sufficient inventory, but even after the next shipment arrives, our inventory will remain low through the end of the year, so we unfortunately can’t offer EP on TD4 before 2027.

Ti frame weight
What is the weight of the frame and fork without any attachments?
We’ll have final weights when production frames arrive, but here’s some math on the 58cm prototype: 2640g with all hardware, black paint and satin clear coat. Hardware weights about 150g. The production frames will have a slightly shorter head tube and seat tube than the prototype frame, which will probably reduce weight by about 50g.
As you increase and decrease each frame size, weights change by about 150g per size.

Are there any plans to restock the 12mm adapter for the spork 1.x?
